BYHA Open House is this weekend! This is the time to register for the up coming season. Buy, sell and trade old equipment, and get your legs ready for the season with some cheap skating. 

The open house will run from 11:00am till 5:30.  There will be skating for only $1 during these hours.  Three sessions to choose from, 11-1, 1:15-3:15, and 3:30-5:30 or skate at them all!!!

We will also hold parent meetings during the first two sessions, at 11:30 and 2pm.  We will have important information about the coming season, and so on.  Please be aware that every parent must attend a parent meeting before the season starts.  If you are unable to attend, please contact us at the email below.

There will be a equipment swap going on all day.  Bring your old skates, pads, gloves, and helmets to sell or trade. 

We need your help.  We need parents to volunteer for 1 hour of your time to help with sign ups and the equipment swap. If you can help please email us at as soon as possible.

SECOND ROUND TRAVEL TRYOUTS

We had our first round of tryouts late last spring.  Now it's time to get ready for the second round.  IF YOU MISSED THE FIRST ONE, YOU MUST COME TO THE SECOND ONE, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
There is a $20 tryout fee. 


August 23rd - PeeWee Tryouts       7:15-8:15
                      Bantam Tryouts         8:15-9:15

August 30 -    Mite/Squirt Tryouts     7:15-8:15
                      Midget U16 Tryouts     8:15-8:30




Per USA Hockey Rules, you must be the appropriate age by December 31st to qualify for your division.



Mites are 8 and youner
Squirts are 9 and 10
Peewees are are 11 and 12
Bantams are 13 and 14



So for instance if you are turning 9 December 28th, you may try out for Squirt in August, but you cannot try out for Mites.

Sorry for the late notice, but do to numerous circumstances that have occurred, we are forced to pospone the Iron Man Tournament that was scheduled for 8/21/2010.

We will post additional information about the reschedule dates and times after we have it.

Here is a checklist of gear that a hockey player needs to play in our leagues;
Skates, stick, shin guards, hockey pants, protective cup, elbow pads, shoulder pads, hockey gloves, helmet with full cage or shield, practice jersey, hockey socks, & mouthguard.  Other items you may want to consider are stick tape, suspenders for pants, stick wax, hockey gear bag,  & a water bottle.  You can get your hockey gear from Chris Martin at "On the Edge" Pro Shop upstairs in the Lexington Ice Center. The Parents Introduction to Youth Hockey brochure produced by USA Hockey is intended to give useful information to parents who are new to the game of ice hockey. It includes information on the game, rules, penalties, positions, skills required and equipment your child will need to play the game.  It also has information on how you can make a difference for your child by being positive and supporting their efforts.  Anyone who is new to the game should give this brochure a read.
