 Parade Updates
by posted 07/02/2009

One last reminder to all participants in the July 4th parade.  Please wear your Hockey T-shirt.  We have more, if you need one, or parents want one, please contact us and let us know.  Also, we want roller blades and hockey sticks.

We will have plenty of water and such things, we need a couple parents to help with dispersing drinks and keep the mess cleaned up.

At this point, we only have a few participants, so we are planning accordingly with vehicles and so on.  For those who don't want to rollerblade we will have a couple or so trucks to ride in.

We will be meeting in the same area as the Christmas Parade (The Lexington Herald Leader Parking Lot).  Please be there by 11:45 to sign the waiver. We have to register between 12 and 1.  The parade starts at 2.

If you need to leave between signing in and the actual parade, we have to be ready no later than 1:30.  At that time we will be lined up and it will be up to you to find our group.

If you have not let us know you are coming, please call instead of email from this point.  You can reach Eric or Kristi, see numbers below.

Thanks for your participation. . . we want to get our name out there and keep growing Hockey in the Bluegrass!!!!  See you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To all BHYA Parents:
Greetings, BYHA is ready to start the 2008-2009 season. We have a few changes for the upcoming season.  Eric Lazur is the Developmental & House League Commissioner. Developmental  & House League will start October 5th in rink # 2. House League is expected to have 3 teams this year so our Saturday sessions will be 1 hour. Sundays will also be 1 hour.  House League Hockey will be "change on the fly" so there will be no "A" & "B" lines. Travel practice times are posted. Frank Gdovka is the Travel League Commissioner. We are going to have a midget team this year. Jeff Horan is the head coach. Over the summer, Paul Watson stepped down as BYHA President but remains on the BYHA Board. I was elected BYHA President & Clint Ison is Vice President. Jim Green left BYHA as our long standing Secretary & Sue Dumais is acting in his place. Kristi Lazur is our Treasurer. In addition, we have made it easy to pay all registration in advance, online, through our website payment link. You may pay in advance now through the payment link. by posted 11/03/2005

The Parents Introduction to Youth Hockey brochure produced by USA Hockey is intended to give useful information to parents who are new to the game of ice hockey. It includes information on the game, rules, penalties, positions, skills required and equipment your child will need to play the game.  It also has information on how you can make a difference for your child by being positive and supporting their efforts.  Anyone who is new to the game should give this brochure a read.
